Before Leukotape K is applied, this tape has already been stretched by 10%. After this, the tape can be stretched by 30 - 40% in the longitudinal direction before the tape is applied to the skin. It is even possible to stretch Leukotape K up to 140%. Due to the longer stretchability, Leukotape K can be applied well around the contours of body parts. Another advantage of the longer stretch is the full freedom of movement that Leukotape K allows. Leukotape K lifts the skin, allowing for better drainage of lymphedema under the skin. In addition, Leukotape K has a massaging effect, which causes muscles to contract better (sensorimotor or proprioceptive influence) and improves the metabolism of muscles. Leukotape K can also have a stabilizing and postural effect.
